确定离心式风机的变速类别时，应注意机械设备的临界转速比，否则，当转速比调整到其固有频率时，很可能破坏设备。选择变速装置时，应尽可能配合风机的负荷特性，避免实际运行效果不好。但要遵循一个标准，即风机的转速比不能太大，但其较小转速比不能低于额定值的50％。
